🐑 Serendipitous Shepherdess Sanctuary, Inc.
A Non-Profit Rescue & Retirement Home for Small Farm Animals
It all began in 2019 with our very first rescue:
17 sheep, a chicken, and a cat—each with a story, each in need of a safe place to land.
Since then, our flock has grown to include dozens of other animals: more sheep, chickens, ducks, and geese, as well as a small herd of mischievous goats… and even a dignified turkey.
From the very first day, our sanctuary has opened its gates and hearts to visitors.
We welcome everyone to come meet, snuggle, and learn about the animals who call this place home.
🐾 What We Do
We provide a loving, forever home for rescued and retired small farm animals—offering them safety, care, and companionship for the rest of their days.
We also offer educational workshops, all completely free for youth under 18. Topics range from:
-
🐑 Animal husbandry
-
🧶 Wool crafts
-
🌱 Gardening & foraging
-
🌼 Natural dyeing
…and more hands-on experiences that help reconnect people to the land, the animals, and themselves.
Each year, our sheep gift us with beautiful wool, which we lovingly turn into:
-
Clothing
-
Home décor
-
Art pieces
-
Hand-spun yarn
…and other fiber treasures.
Every penny from the sale of these items goes right back into the sanctuary—feeding our residents, funding new rescues, and continuing to provide free workshops to young learners.
🐓 Current Flock (as of 2025)
-
19 sheep
-
9 goats
-
3 geese
-
6 ducks
-
1 turkey
-
49 chickens
Since day one, we have fully funded this mission ourselves.
But now, we’re asking for your help—to ensure we can continue rescuing animals and offering sanctuary-based education to all who visit.
